The second boat had no hole in the deck and was run under the same name by Willie Meyers and Steve Tognoli to win a Bahamas 500. This was the boat Betty bought along with Don Pruett's services.

I just spoke with a woman this morning about one of the Betty Cook Scarabs. She saw my scarab and mentioned her late husband use to race in the 80's. He partially owned one of the Betty Cook Scarabs. I could see the excitement in her eyes while she was reminiscing about her husband. She said the other owner of the boat had many in his fleet. Sounds like there were 2 of the Scarabs.

I raced with Betty & then John C.
We took most of the impacts through our hips & Legs.
I just had one hip replaced in Nov. and the other is
scheduled next month.
She was a Grand Lady!! May great memories.

Do a search.
Pat Weissman was involved in KAAMA and later on when the company folded/was shut down "someone" bought the toolings and sunk them outside N.Y....o r so I've read here.
Would love to get my hands on a pair thou..and wouldn't it bee cool if they got reproduced?
