I`m happy to say, Billy E is living in Ft. Laud, and enjoying life as it was. I had lunch with him couple weeks ago, and recalled some good old days in racing.
I ran some races with him, when his throttleman (Danny) was hurt. One in particular in England the Cowes torquay Cowes race. We won and set a record in doing so. Ran against Clive Curtis and James Beard in one of the first cats from cougar. I ran the 38` Scarab (Satisfaction) Betty Cook was also there along with Ted Toleman and Smitty in the 38` Bertram, We had to work for it. We averaged 79.8 mph I think the course was 185 miles long ????????? those were the days.

This 38 Scarab "Satisfaction"? Or is this a different/newer boat? Saw it a couple of weeks ago at the Catalina Ski Race and Rum Run.
It's funny for the Rum Run there were more race boats watching than participating!
(Two Larry Smith Scarab race boats and a 35' flat deck Cig race boat, for example.)
