Latest on HORBA
Just wanted to keep everyone up on our changes over at HORBA.
We want the site to be easier to move around on, so we have purchased some new software that will allow us to do that.
We have plans to take the photos from our library and put up as many individual races as we can. This means shots of the boats arriving on the transporters, in the pits, the crews standing around and on the docks, the actual race shots and even the awards ceremony.
In addition to this, we want to be able to have the actual participants of those races that are still living, post their own memories of their race. Open or production classes, it doesn't matter, after going through the library we realized that we have so much, this would make a great way to display to and inform the public about the sport of offshore racing.
There still won't be an open forum, we have OSO for that, but you will be able to post your memories.
We are also working on a section devoted to the crews. Throttleman, Navigator and even the truck drivers and land crews that we all depended on so much. Finally they will get the recognition they have deserved all along.
Photos will be able to be purchased from the race site in various sizes as we have the original negatives. We are sure that we have photos that have never been seen before.

Top Banana,
The HORBA website is absolutely fantastic.
I think that you should put a biography on all historical racers and what they are doing now section, and of course a picture file on their boats.
I am sure most people would love to know more about the racers, how they made their money to compete, their occupations etc.

The 60's could be the Era of Innovation or it could be just the 60's. The same with the 70's 80's and 90's.
Probably the first race covered will be with Ritchie and Bonomi in the Bahamas...Ritchie can fill in his memories as best he can.... and then anyone else who was around at the time.
Any production guys out there, let us know if you see your boat in the photos posted, and you can add your memories too.
We want each race covered with as many stories as we can.
We will have about 100 photos from each race....so alot of guys will get coverage.
