So Brownie, the Cary 32' (that Elton Cary sold and marketed) is not the same hull design that Don Aronow called Cary 32' and it didn't come from Aronow.
I don't know why I thought this, but I thought the Elton Cary 32' became the Cobra 32'. then years later the Cobra 32' became the Powerplay 33' ? |
The boat for sale on Boat Trader was for sale about ten years ago in Florida. Greg Gluck at American Offshore Marina in Dania had the boat. It had staggered 500HP/496CI stroker motors, and Speedmaster II or III drives. Three man bolster and a small cabin. The boat had the signature Jean Claude deck. I believe the boat could have been had for about $15k-$20k back then. It was pretty rough and needed lots of love. Sat on an original steel Target tri-axle trailer. I always liked the boat, it was just too much work at the time. I wonder what the ask is these days . . . I have the old photos somewhere, I have to find and scan them.

Aronow and Elton had the same boat. Simone made the original 'Beep Beep' in the same mold. Over the years, the 26' Cary (built from the lower gunwale of the 28SS Ciggy, got stretched and stretched, and became the 29' Cary (8' wide). Then it became everything else. It is now being built as a 30' by a neighbor of ours. One of my favorite boats................
