Donzi Sportsman 28' project

Well, I was looking for a project and now I have one.

Surveyor was impressed with boa structure with the exception of 1 center stringer that may be repairable.

Engines are very rough and will be coming out and likely staying out. Wrestling with what to repower her with...

Cabin in very good shape considering, but will take her all the way down and freshen her up new all around.

Seating that was in boat will be replaced with more appropriate passenger/starboard side u benches continuing through stern. Thinking driver side will be back/front bench.

There is a mint Sportsman for sale asking $64,900. I am hoping to get in good shape on this for $30-$40k over a few years, but you never know...

Be careful what you wish for...

------Glad to see that the 28 found a good home! That 64 thou one is beautiful and amazingly clean. I spent many years on the Cape and knew most all the DONZIs in that area, but dont remember that Bass River 28.........Bill S

Top Banana - not that I know of, this was Scott P's boat from Lake George Donzi club that he had to part with. In seeing the incredible and numerous toys at his place I understood why...he's a great guy.

P.S. I wIll be ordering the HOBRA book today

In looking at that HOBRA picture it does appear to be the same boat...

If there is anything that HORBA can do to help you with the restoration, please feel free to let us know.
