There's another 38 I tested in FL in the late 90s that was staggered. It had 600ci Mercury Racing EFI motors in it and no 4s. That boat got me hooked on the Cougar ride. Also, there is one in Spain for sale now with no 6s.

@ Cougarman

Does your boat still have the 6s on it? That's another nice boat! Flying.........? I can't remember the rest of her name.

Tony Roberts Built 7 V Bottoms and 7 of the narrow tunneled cats for the Venezualan Gov't. All had Merlin Diesels and arneson drives. all made from the molds he popped from boats cougar left behind. He blocked the 46 mold to make 42's and 38's, I guess the temp wall they blocked it with wasn't very sturdy and the gel and skin coat would break loose before any real glass got layed. I remember seeing Hooks in his hulls 4"+ deep. they would just putty/paste it smooth, spray it, buff it, ship it. I Imagine the putty would come off in pieces bigger than Bricks. Hooks so big you had to cut the stringers to fit along the bottom.

Hey Cougarman, did the boat in post#72 and #73 come out of Chicago few years ago? It was originally build for racing. After one season out on the race corse partnership went south and the boat was stripped of all hardware except drives. Set in a marina for few years before sold and rerigged with big power.
Boat was then donated for ????????
