Default Aronow Magnums

Some more info for you Marco.

1967 - Uses a 28ft single engine and a 3 x Merc 28ft, until Miami/Key West 3rd Nov when a 28ft twin is used. This is probably went to Balestrieri. Then there is the green single engine which kennerley had.

1968 - Uses a 27ft thro to Aug 24th.In Miami/Nassau 9th Oct Kennerly uses a 27ft (see pic),could this be same boat before Billy Martin uses it in Hurricane Classic Dec 7th.Before this Martin uses the 26ft Luhrs hull. Also Aronow uses a 28ft twin engine for Hennessey Aug 6th and Hurricane Classic Dec 7th (Crouse says a 28ft Cigarette?).Miami Nassau Oct 9th Aronow has new 28ft twin engine which catches fire and sinks,so presumably he had 3 twin engined 28ft`s.

White Knight had 2 x Mercruisers = 700hp,so maybe it was re-engined from the single job.

Default Aronow Magnums

Continuing the off topic
for the 1967 Aronow then drove 4 28' Magnum.
Two single-engine,one with two 3 Mercury and a twin engines then went to Balestrieri.
For the Miami-Nassau I have information that Aronow drove a 28' with two engines finishing 11th in the overall.
It was the one with the drive shaft or one with a pair of stern drives?
A guy from USA (that I can not remember the name) years ago sent to me an e-mail with a picture attached substaining that there was a 28' of Aronow with two engines and two stern drives that perhaps then became the White Knight.
I'll put the photo when I'll find it.
Aronow in 1967 drove at the Hennessy-Long Island Marathon of 19 July this yellow (single engine?)Magnum 27 '? (28'?) # 4 with a different deck that maybe it was the Maltese Magnum III of Jake Trotter # 16 in the Sam Griffith Memorial Race of the previous February 8.

Also again in 1967 after the Miami-Nassau at the Round Nassau Aronow finished second driving the Magoon's 28' "Andrea" with three outboards.

In 1968 at the Miami-Nassau Aronow drove this white Magnum with two engines but not sure it was a 28'.
I think more to a new 27' for two engines.
Certainly not a phantomatic 28' Cigarette.

Ian Toll restored the twin engine 28ft that went to Balestrieri as Magnum Tornado.

Default 68 Miami - Nassau

Extract from race report,as written by your favourite reliable witness,J.Crouse esq.
I must admit that gunwale doesn`t look as swept down aft like the Magnum 27ft boats have, yet the deck moulding is different to the usual Magnum 28ft.
Havn`t got much on the 67 U.S. racing Marco, hence the gaps in info, other than the Crousey bible.

------Im going to venture another opinion; I think the #4 is one of the infamous DONZI/Magnum Banana boats. What do you think Mark??? You are right about the burner,,,its a magnum sedan. Must have been quite a ride with the crew so far forward. I would venture a guess that they might not have been sorry to see it go, if monetary questions didnt intrude........Bill S

h2oboater has solved almost every question with this Magnum for that unusual deck.
It remains to confirm the length but I think that Crouse has written right 28'.

BTW I think it better to continue on a separate thread that I want to start here.
