Just to confirm the White Knight history.
Still cannot justify the second 3 x Merc 110hp version though,as referred to in the extract. |

Another black & white pic of Maltese Magnum.I didn`t want your left arm anyway Olli.
From the files. 1966 - Maltese Magnum,Aronow raced in Sam Griffith Feb 22nd,Gateway Marathon June 6th,Hennesey Long Island July 13th.Jake Trotter raced Miami-Nassau April 25th. 1967 - Dreadnought,Barry Cohen raced Bahamas 500 May 7th. Barry realized that he just got a great deal and it was too late, in front of too many people, for it to change. They both laughed and the boat changed hands. |

Dreadnought
Good to have the confirmation Charlie, whilst having a ripping yarn as a bonus.

Here the "Dreadnought" of Cohen.
Someone considered that Aronow derived directly from this 35' the next Cigarette 32'. It seems that the colors and the engines hatches are already those . Curious is the fact that Dreadnought was the name of the British Navy warship that at the beginning of the twentieth century was the archetype of the modern battleships. http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/9...ought1967a.jpg http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5...readnought.jpg |
Aronow raced the "Big Bad Donzi" in '66 in a couple of races. He led the Gateway, and broke, with us winning in the "Big Broak Jumper", then around Long Island, where I beat him by 9 feet (after 255 miles) with lhe "Little Broad Jumper".

Big Bad Donzi
Those 66 races Brownie were surely under the name Maltese Magnum.I had recorded that Big Bad Donzi was it`s 65 name, and I have only come across one race it did under that name.I stand to be corrected.

Dreadnought
I have you know Mr.Marco that the real `Dreadnought`Battleship was built on the slipway, not 5 miles from where I live,so if Barry Cohen ever makes it to the 50th Cowes - Torquay -Cowes in Ghost Rider in August,he could pay a nostalgic visit to that very Dockyard.
