Hey guys, just coming back here for some advice on carbs. Last year, I noticed my Holley was weeping fuel at the end of the season. It wasn't a lot, and it runs fine, but I'd rather buy a new carb than rebuild this one. I'm comfortable rebuilding them, but it's a lot of effort to wind up with another great working but ugly carb, since I have no engine cover I'd really rather spring for a fully polished version. Do you guys have any suggestions?
78 350 Block, .30 over, weind xlerator intake, not sure the cam specs, and Stellings headers. Gear drive. |

Wonder what he did with this boat over the last 4 years. And some fresh pics of his helper. Lol
Here is an edit from last weekend: |
Also, wound up going with a Holley Street Demon, full polished. Install went okay but I lost 400rpms from the top end, and ther's a bit of a stumble as it gets on throttle. Have to mess with it more.

Thanks for the update Rob. Best of luck with the Holley carb. I checked out some other videos on your channel and really enjoyed your adventures with the BadAstro conversion van. Look forward following your resto of the '77 Targa. Wish You guys a continued wonderful summer.

I actually just finished another video of the carb upgrade, pretty epic audio near the end. This should really be applicable to anybody with an older carb'd boat.

Thanks! I need to use that thing more, but covid has sort of turned me into a homebody this year at least. It's doing great towing the boat tho! :)

The interior was redone 2 years ago, the original vinyl was just getting too old/dried out and starting to split everywhere, the foam was failing, etc. The new stuff looks incredible! :) I moved north of Milwaukee near west bend, so now most of my boating takes place on Pike Lake or Big Cedar Lake. Honestly super depressed about it, big cedar has a super lame 35mph speed limit and is overrun by police officers, and pike lake is tiny. The chain of lakes in madison is awesome, but I can't afford to live there. |
New video just dropped; on water testing and tuning to optimize performance. Lots of high speed runs!
