What is confusing is that I have wiring diagrams for a 350 with a normal coil and distributor, but I have an HEI distributor with integrated coil, and a voltmeter instead of an ammeter. Anybody have anything they can post to help?

Its a speed boat shoot out! Last year there were a bunch of hydrostreams, a few flatbottoms, and 2 twin outboard skaters....

The wiring is basicly the same, You'll have a main wire (12 or 10 gauge) from the Battery+ (or switch) that goes to the "B"(Battery) on your key switch, Then a Purple wire that comes off the "I"(Ignition) on the key switch that powers All the Gauges and Coil. The "S"(start) on the key switch goes to the starter solinoid. A volt meter hooks up Just like all the other gauges, it doesn't have a Load in/out wire like the ammeter, Just a simple + & -, Viola your done.....

Got it. Where does the alternator output go though? On the + terminal of the starter solonoid.

It Can, It should hook to something that the main Battery Cable goes to, Battery Switch (out) or even the battery (+) it's self.

Gracias. Should have the wiring done tonight. Now to figure out the freakin' thermostat housing. The water intake on my outdrive comes in on the starboard side, and the PS is on the starboard side. All the thermostat housing that work with headers have the inlet on the PORT side. ARGH.
