The Cary is in Florida and the disassembly will begin on Monday. Once the boat is completely apart, we can get into what it actually needs as far as replacement.....transom, stringers, bulkheads, etc etc.

We then make up a priority list and draw up a budget and start the campaign for funds to get to work.

Once again, a big thanks to Bobby Sheer for transporting this boat from California to Florida and to Catastrophe for providing the funding for the trip.

I had head he was really good at flying, he could do some crazy things with a choper. I think he was a Med-Vac pilot in Viet Nam,, had to be good to get out a live there.
yes I worked with him got many years in the 70s when we worked at Interdata. Never knew he flew or was involved in Racing until one day I asked him where was a for a few days and told me he was flying for you.

I wonder where he is now?
Thank you
Jim

Default Walt M.

He was excellent at flying - he went to New Zealand with us too in 1986 -

I have lost track with him - more than 15 years ago - but am still greatful for his skills and experience. For sure, our efforts were a team effort - and he was one of the key players ! I remember he used to ride his Motorcycle to work too -

Thanks for bringing back Memmories Jim !

I did not ask any picture, if this is your worry, Charlie.
Sorry if I've entered into your thread. Adios!

Phil,

My pleasure, I haven't seen or heard from Walt in about 25+ years, I moved up to New England and lost track of him right after that.

Thank you
Jim

Charlie,
congrats on this project.
Growing up in Northern California i remember that part of offshore history especially the LA>SF race in the 60's. Best of luck...one of the icons that got be interested in ocean running.

How fun! Please keep us posted.
