1991 Gentry Eagle Aluminum Catamaran Restoration
I've owned the old Gentry Eagle 50 Aluminum cat for a number of years. She's structurally in excellent health but stripped of all else. Im looking to restore her finally and am looking for old pics, parts and people who worked on her. Im sure he engines and drives are still floating around and if they are get ahold of me.
Any stories, video, pics or info on her would be appreciated.
The boat is now in Northern California and before I buy a set of turbines and ASD 8's I wanted to see if the original drives still existed for historic value.
You can shoot me info [email protected]
Gallery of her today:

I don't think that hull was built in 1991. In fact I always thought that your hull and the one you are referring to as the "older sister" were one and the same.

Hey John
I think I posted your Craig's list ad a few weeks ago for others to view...always exciting to see some of these historic hulls being restored..

Was this the hull that Norm and Tom piloted from Europe to East Coast for cross Atlantic record? Or planned to do so?
I remember Norm presented the story about it at a local Club meeting (Maybe at Howard's shop).
Maybe Norm can be of some help? Assume he is till around..
Looks like 7XChamp rigged one of the Gentry hulls in this thread..

T2x you are right the red boat and the white one for sale are the same boat (aluminum) .. It sank in Michigan or one of the lake races and they rebuilt it painted it white and put the big canopy on it...the wood white one is a different boat...

I can help with some info. Yes this is the same boat that sank in michigan. It was converted to a canopy by Terry Laughlin in Florida ? and re-rigged by Gentry's staff in Ca. About a year later the boat crashed in a tunnel in San Antonio crushing the port side. During the repair the angle of the sponsons were increased. I think the last time this boat raced was Key west 92 it had a wing mounted off the transom at that time.
