Thanks everyone.
I think I have more time in the video then in the boat. lol
Here is the last one I did over 2008 / 2009.
Youtube will let me post this one. I guess it slipped past the copyright cops.

how are you coming with the lift issue? The wooden one my buddy has is about 9 ft to the bottom of the beam - the chainfall we use eats up over a foot. No-one has been able to locate the steel one yet. ~ Eddy

I need to get the motor's oil pan about 7 feet off the ground. I think the wood one would be a little tight. I'm thinking about renting a forklift. Never did that before. I always had one at the shop I was working for (unemployed at the moment) that I could borrow on a weekend. It just depends on how much that would cost I may end up buying a gantry but they are like 600/700 bucks. Hoping to find one used someone was trying to get rid of.

When I was younger and didn't have a shop I actually used a tree! Put the boat under the tree and used a come along to lift the engine, it was a 354 chrysler hemi. Got it up in the air pulled the boat out and set the motor on a big wire spool that I used for a table. Took the engine apart and replaced a bad piston, hoisted it back up with come along and reinstalled it. My neighbors and friends sure had fun with that, talking about a true shade tree mechanic! I noticed you had some trees around there??????? I want to see a video of that. Those were the days!
I've got to rent a fork lift or buy a gantry. That's pretty much my options at this point.

I wish you were closer, I would be more than willing to let you use my shop and I would enjoy helping. The forklift would probably be the safest. Good luck and be careful you have an awesome boat and I understand why you wouldn't want to use a tree, the tree I used you could of hung a truck on.

Killer job on the new boat, I just messaged Brownie earlier about trying to get my 19 back. I have been pissed ever since I got rid of it, and will have the money to restore it right this spring. I can only hope he will let me buy it back. The 24 is truly next level though......awesome job! Supernovaguy19
