why did he take it off and bring to a marina/repair shop rather than leave both on the boat to sell? The guy knew it had issues. At least call the marina you dropped it off and ask them what the deal is and pass it on to the customer.

I don't know and don't care. If he though he was buying a turn key boat he should of done a sea trial. The fact that a sea trial could not be done is representative enough that the boat needed repairs to make it sea worthy. No sympathies, buyer should have checked it out thoroughly.
ok , hers the deal, i bought the boat with two drives on it, I knew one was bad it was locked up, seller told me he had a fresh rebuilt drive at a marina, I went to pick it up and it was trashed, I questioned the mechanic about it and he said the seller knew it was bad and told him to give it to me anyway, on the way home i called seller and asked to confirm; didnt you say the drive was rebuilt, ready to go, he said yes, then i told him the mechanic told me that Jim(the seller told him he knew it was bad and to give it anyway, once i said that the seller(Jimmy) hung up on me, and wont return my calls, lol , he is a pos !! yes i know , with boats should always do a water test, but i did hear the motors run, I did do compression tests, went through all the motor build papers, and i went through the boat hull, mechanicals, and electrical very thouroly, knowing one drive was bad, but what gets me is how someone can blatently lie like that, Dont tell me you have a good spare drive an hour and a half drive each way to get it,when in fact its a pos and wasted my day, that my friends is the story, he is a 30 year old punk P.o.S. |

Is it anywhere in writing about the drive? You may have a case for court but depends on what you can prove.
anyway, Im in good hands now, a fellow OSO contacted me, and he is rebuilding the second spare drive, it is salvageable, so hopefully this weekend i can do a quick water test, since the water levels are close to normal on the Fox River in McHenry, that is if they dont open the gates any further:drink: |

I have two right hands on the boat now, what kind of gains would i get if i did switch to c/r set up ? i know it would eliminate torque steer, but would i gain any significant speed?, more speed? , thanks ,

Definitely will see a noticable handling difference with counter rotation drives.. not sure about a speed increase , but I feel you will see some improvement
