87' P22 350Mag/Alpha Prop Help

That'd be cool to try out the different props; I might hit you up on that offer Biggus.
I've never played around with props before. My dad had tried several different props on his '86 P22 with the 350/Alpha and liked the 24p Turbo 3-blade the best. Would the 24p make my Alpha disintegrate over time?
Is there a generic prop tutorial or write-up for us not adept in prop-talk? Or is it too much of a variable as to a props performance since every boat is different?
