Anybody else have any Checkmate racing photos?? I know the Checkmate factory raced in the mid 80's their 28' SX with twin 2.4's...also, Ocean outboard raced the same model boat through the mid to late 80'.

Powder Keg and Fly United from Mentor Ohio

A few more from the early GLOPRA days.

I remember in the late 70's as a kid driving up and down the Mentor Lagoons in my 8 ft. wooden skiff looking for another skiff to race with my 69 3HP Johnson. I would drive close to the Powder Keg that never left it's place at the dock. I would look at the scum line on the side and the hair hanging off the drives and bottom and couldn't figure out why such an awsome boat never left the dock. It had big oak trees above it and all the bird crap and leaves would cover the top sides. I never saw it leave the dock once in all them years. Every late fall it would disappear and show up again the next spring. Anyone have more pictures of the Keg? Also there was a boat called Fly United from the Lagoons. Does anyone know what happened to this boat or any pictures?
