About time! Awsome Boat and crew.

Ryan Beckley 01-23-2013 08:09 AM

I was told the SHOWDOWN is at SKATER right now getting refreshed for the original owner!

bck 01-23-2013 12:00 PM

Bill is a paid member here now but isn't able to add attachments for some reason so I posted the pics for him. Is there a minimum post count to add pics or something? He still owns the boat and it is at Skater. Might even be a restoration thread coming. I'm sure he'll check this thread and be happy to fill you in.

Looks like it may be one of the old LOVE IT Shadow cats.

One of my all time favorite Freeze Frame videos is from Key West 85' -86' of Love it Again coming into Mallory Square. They crank it up and you can hear the small blocks screaming at I bet 7000RPM +.

Past few months Bob Timme and I tip a few in the Eastlake Racing Legends Racing Stable. He tells me the stories of the day and we dig through the history that he has collected through the years. He tells me good old stories and history of my boat and every other racing machine that he has come into contact with through the fifty years plus of his racing obession. I can only say that if you have a chance to listen to a Boat Racing Legend Like Bob Timme over a few cans of liquid Gold do so. Who needs the pictures.

Boar Hog

I have come to learn that when I visited the boat and the owner Jan of 2012 it was not Boar Hog....that was a relief. What else I have learned from Brownie is there may have been only one 29-9 I/O made...all the others were designed for outboards. That's s why Vaughn Szarka keeps saying it was one of a kind.Need to speak to Dick Armington the original owner. Bud

It looks like the trailer is the only thing they left alone. :picard1: The race boat #606 has that same type of trailer from back then.

Worked for Dan Humes on PEPPERS for a few years. It was a Clym's Gem. Mike Bennet (r.i.p.) who owned Shipwreck Marine on the Salt River did all the motor work/setup and Bob Kaiser showed us how to drive it :):).......... My good friend Bob Stack (r.i.p.) was the driver in later years when it gained EXIDE Sponsorship.

On a side note another friend now that has a high end auto repair facility near me was the driver for Desperado out of Ohio. I'll try to get some pics, Bill
