Wasn't it the Chase Cougar that broke down on the Hudson river during the NY race and a drunk guy jumped off the bridge to "Help" them.... died in the process??

Dad tells me Steve Curtis throttled that race, and it was so calm he actually ate a sandwich during the race. They finished though

I talked to Steve about it but before I knew the name of it. So yes that is something that I will do. I'm sure the name of it will que a couple memories hopefully

There is/was a blue 30 race in England.

You might be referring to the boat that I was associated with for a number of years.

It is a very early 30 racedeck originally built for an English owner who powered it (somewhat unsuccessfully with twin Cosworth Indy type V-8s. The subsequent owner re-powered it with small blocks and the current owner stuck in a couple of big blocks when the boat was restored (and painted blue) in 1997.

I was fortunate enough to throttle the boat from 2002-2006. The boat has been popular in England for years. Credit for the photo of the boat in its white livery goes to Graham (Flying Fish) Stevens.
