thanks. read all info. on that website regarding this hull. Just hoping to hear from someone who owns/owned one. I am interested in hearing how well this boat rides and what the ride could be compared to , being built today.

Sonic bought the molds from Donzi. They built some boats, then left the molds to rot. We attempted to buy them for reasonable money some years ago, they told me they had a "buyer in West Palm Beach" who would pay twice our offer. We walked. A couple years later the molds went to the dump.
The El Pescador hull is a great running, great riding boat. Solid ride, dry and stable platform, it can be a hoot. The same hull was used for the Doral Spirit and Spitfire.
I'd like to build one with about 750 hp in small blocks one day.

Reread your post,as far as comparison to the ride of something bulit today, I would compare it to some of the top tier center consoles ie: Contender, Pursuit etc.
I would expct Olered Alert to chime in, he's restored one (beautifully) already and is working on a Spitfire now..

Back in the day the Donzi dealer here on lake St Clair Markly Marine had a El Pescado with a single merc 482 with speed III drive. Jim Krause who had the dealership wanted to race it in P class back then, APBA said NO!! Jim than raced the Doral I have now in the APBA P class back then.
