Your dad Junior was a true badass throttleman. I was a kid myself and was friends with my dad Humberto and I met your mom as well. Beautiful people. But I met them both at 10 years old and Im 45 now but I will tell you your dad was awesome on the sticks! I saw him in person throttle Flap Jack, Ajac Hawk, RDS a 45 triple engine Apache and many more that Im sure that Ive missed. However, I don't recall him racing a cat. He was the man to consult whenever in doubt. My dad was the builder and founder of Carrera Powerboats and he used to race in the Sport class division. The boat was called Damn Carrera! Say hello to your mom on behalf of the Picon family

I Remember he ran with Tony Garcia in the "Former" Rampage Cat in Cape Coral, Sammy (James) was running the Arneson boat with another Driver (I don't recall who) I remember being on the Hotel roof watching the race and telling race control which boat was which before they came by cause I knew them better than they did

The boat was renamed "Panasonic".
Vince Vento was the owner
. Vince bought an older cat and Keith re rigged it from one end to the other.
They campaigned it for a year together.

Whoops, Steve beat me too it.
Keith is the reason I race with my dad. Jason, (my dad) was his shop manager for a long time, and one of his closest friends. Keith taught him everything he knows.
In fact, our current boat is in a way, dedicated to Keith. He originally rigged it back in 1982, and now she resides with some of his biggest fans and closest friends.

Alex,

Your Dad and Sal were on the cover of the MDA race program back in 81. A child with Muscular Dystrophy - in a wheel chair - was between them. Marylyn Hazel did the interview with the kid in "Damn Carrera." It was one of those old "Innerspace" Videos that Steve Fried did.
