MGB/Cobia is active on the net/forums and is quite transparent.
I emailed big cheese there today and I had an email back in 15 minutes, and it's not the first time.
#1 selling CC in the country 26' and up. That says a lot right there 'cause these larger Cobia CC's are generally not first CC's, or beginner boats $$
Their market (for fishing) is Atlantic 50-100 out day trippers. Huge in Jersey and it often gets mighty unpleasant out that far in that neighborhood.
So I think in terms of comfort on the River and the Lake I be just fine.
with as much bottom as there is fwd, and beamy there's almost as much boat in the water as the 353...roughly about 30sq. shy

The now 262 has an all new console, larger top and new integrated to console top frame no legs on the floor or pipes aside the console taking up walk-though space. Also has a new bolstered console seat. Head now has molded-in FW sink and cabinet/storage
Like the rod holders on the t-top frame, I nixed the rack behind the seats as well. It protruded into the deck space

Good thread from THT on tooling a new model. First post has a link to a previous tooling thread as well.
Makes it pretty clear how much time and $ a builder has into bringing a new model before a dollar is made on it.

Pics out of the mold look like some pretty clean chit. You might get away with a gallon bucket of wax. Just walk out of work with a box of them procto gloves to keep that carnuba from under the nails.

I liked the lines myself obviously including the bustle drop, shapes and angles.
in this segment egress from one side of the platform to the other is not universal.
it's getting a lil more common now but as seen here on the Cobia, there is a minimum walkway ahead of the motor well
this was important to me.

Again, this isn't a Yellowfin, Regulator, ect. but it wasn't 200K for a 26' either.
In the world of mid-tier production boats, the Cobias are at, or very near the top of the class
especially in terms of layouts, features, access, rigging, build, and performance.
This took so long to find/decide because every other contender lacked one or more, even if they did others very well, quite frustrating!

Yes Boston Whaler,Cobia,Pursuit and even Grady White are considered the top for production builders. Cobia being one of the smaller ones is probably one of the best in that category... My dad has a new 23' really almost 26' with the molded walk around transom, Whaler and it's amazing quality.

my buddy has a mid 90's Grady 225 with 250HP on a bracket. That is an amazing little boat! boats on the Lake exclusively and we've had that thing out in some pretty big eastern end crap and it just a blast. The bracket has a lot to do with that.
I looked at new Grady's but the $ is ridiculous and I liked the layout and finish work on the Cobia over the Pursuit.

Wow! That's like lickem', stickem', and done, instant boat! How long was the build? Was like only a short while ago you had pics of it just out of the mold.
