Back on the water after many years
I'm back in the boating community after probably 10 years, (fishing boat not included)
I just bought a 30' Century Ultra 3, I have no idea about the history regarding this manufacturer
The only reason I bought it was the engines and a nice trailer!
Twin 454's with 177 blowers, roller rockers, flat tappet cam, dished pistons that's all I know about the engines plus they were originally built by Innovation Marine
Drives appear to be SSM#3 but I'm not sure. They are 1 3/4 shaft with 19 spline
Upon water test, initial planning was difficult. Really bad cavitation out of the hole
Slight cavitation in hard turn on the outside engine but not a big deal
Really stable at speed
Ran 70mph GPS 4800RPM no trim with tabs flat
I'm going to measure the X dimension and try to get gear ratio tonight
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

Welcome back and good luck with the Century. Those motors should produce some nice power.

Yup, TRS upper #2 lower. 2" deeper than a TRS and parts are hard to find. Have a friend that has them on a Chris Cat.
Those engines are mounted pretty high. Should be a fun ride with those engines.

Thank you
I'm pretty sure these are III's, I haven't seen many pics of 2's
9 1/2" from shaft to cav plate
That picture didn't frame them well
Yes they are high, shaft is 5" below running surface
Did some maintenance last night, it will be out this weekend,
Am I missing something regarding engaging the transmission, I put it in gear but it didn't engage. Does it need to be running? I want to figure out the gear ratio, I think I'm missing a bunch of speed with these props
