I'm going to check out that site you attached. Sounds like your boat runs real good. I got the boat because I wanted the best rough water ride I could get in a 27 foot boat. I hope it handles the LOTO trash decently. Its a heavy beee och the cummins diesel works a bit with it in tow. Looking to get a hold of Fastboat 269 as he has one too.
Its interesting that the hull is still being used. That says something right there.

269. Had mine since Feb 2008. Great boat.
Stock set up with twin 350's and Alpha One's. Changed out one lower so I had counter-rotating props - no need to even touch the wheel to keep going straight since.
Use it mostly in the Potomac but take it out in the Chesapeake about 40% of the time. Super stable, dry, comfortable boat.
The fastest I have gone is 63 (gps speed) and it still had a little left in it.
Only complaint - no cup holders topside. I mean, c'mon. Really?
So with twin small blocks and alphas, what will this boat do for top speed?

I have seen GPS 55 and that was with 4 adults 1 child and heavey load of fuel. I have seen 63 on the speedo. I would say the boat was going around 58 - 60 gps. I'm running 21p cleavers. Thinking about changing for next year maybe going to Mirages/ Rev 4's / or Enertias' just depends.. Then again I may just pick up something used on Ebay or something.

You guys with the 223's are you seeing your speeds with a GPS or on the speedo? I have a buddy that has a 223 with a healthy BB and Bravo and the best he has seen is 59 mph. He has tried Hydromotive, Mirage, and a Vengence prop. What type of prop and pitch are you guys running? He is planning on building a 496 but everyone tells him the hull isn't made to go very fast. He is currently running a Gen V 454 with 8.75-1 comp with some old Sonny Leanord aluminum heads a comp cams flat tappet cam. He doesn't turn it over 5,000 rpm.

Thanks Loose connection thats about what his does. I don't think this hull will run 65-70 without alot of HP. I told him about this thread and he said the best its ever done with low fuel, going with the current, and a tail wind was 62.

Just picked up an 87 269 condurre on ebay. Twin roller 350's, was told around 300hp per side. First run I managed to turn 25p mirages 4800rpm. No gps speed yet. Need to do some drive and steering repairs before I get it back out. Great riding boat.
