I have a 2008 30 with a stepped hull but with bottom paint. I have 225 verados but can't get past mid 50's. I am running 3 blades and i am amazed with the speed you get with a your setup. My motors are in the 4th hole.

6200 RPM 21P props. Not sure of the gear ratio. 2006 225 Verados. Took it out yesterday and really couldn't get it to break 50 MPH.
Maybe bravos will help? Thanks for your help. Ron |

I found 22p bravo 1's had to source two separate props to make a pair so they don't match (one is polished and the other one is not) anyway took it out and got 58 MPH at 6000 RPMs which is so much better. I can feel the lightness you guys are talking about now. Great solution to my problem for the money.
Thanks to all |
I'm looking at a 07 30 with step and was wondering if the factory adding the setp fixed or helped with the porpoising problem that I hurd the non step 30s had. Any insight on this?

The step did help it alot and if you have verado you can run Rev 4's FS which give you stern lift and good handling. I used to work for concept and I did all testing so I can tell you all you want to know.

The hull on the 30 is a longstanding, proven hull. That being said, I would opt for the stepped hull if both boats are in a similar condition.

Just picked up my 30 open with 300 verados and consistently see 70mph with half a tank of fuel and 2-4 passengers. Have seen 76 with 1/4 tank and just me on the boat but I'm still learning how to run the boat. As previously mentioned the boat doesn't seem to be quite comfortable over about 65
