Default Proper Tools

I need to open the transom for my Konrad conversion on my Pantera. The layout and clearances of the cuts are critical for proper set up.

What do you guys recommend for blades and saw type. I was planning on using a skill saw and just taking it slow.

Other than tape is there a better way to try an prevent the gel from cracking and chipping?

Thank you and wish me luck!

I would use a saw zall with a medium blade. Maybe a jig saw if the blade will fit through the transom. I cut the top off my MTI with a Saw Zall. The cut can be done very precise when done slowly. The gel will not chip with tape on the out side. Keep in mind the box will cover that anyway. The cut is not as critical as you think as the hole does nothing other than allow the transmission to slide into the extension box. I will help you and I promise to leave the chain saw at home.

Brad also converted his Motion by the same method ... sawzall!! Both The Motion and MTI came out perfect.

Klaw, I appreciate the offer and will take you up on it the need arises.

Thanks,

Kirk
