I scuffed up the bottom of my jet-ski pretty bad. I beleive the finish is black paint w/ clear over it. I think gel-coat is tougher and more scratch resistant and would like to spray it over the clear coat ?? will it work, if so what kind of prep is necessary, will it hold up. Thanks Chris..

I HIGHLY doubt that it is paint. You should be able to find out from the Manufacturer. I would not put Gel over paint.

no gel over paint, you must remove the paint first then gel, use 80 grit Da paper strip it then spray gel

Jamie, I was under the impression it was paint, then somebody said gel, now you got me really confused. It's an 07 Kawi Ultra 250 ?????

I have done a good ammount of kawasakis.. I am pretty sure that it is paint on yours. Matter in fact I cant remember tha last Kawie that I did that wasnt.. The same with the Yammies.. Now SeaDoo was doing a lot of gel but then the hoods were usually paint.. It does cause for some confusion anymore.. They all kind of do thier own thing anymore & some mix & match..
