The bulkheads are in, and began smoothing things out to prep for gel. Its starting to look like a boat again. :)

I didn't see pics of engine mounts done yet, but there's pics here of what I did in my last boat using aluminum angle. Will probably be doing this one as well.
Convincor GTX by Scott Baska Photobucket Also I like how your doing the bulkhead. Much better than the laminate they used.. |

Are you spaying the dykem guide coat after you thin with acetone or wiping it on? Nice thread.

I was just wiping it on but spraying it might put it on thinner. Thinner would be better, it still plugs paper up.

Got it, thanks. I just ordered some spray cans of it from Amazon.

Thanks, Its also a HELL of a lot more work, I'm three weeks into trying to smooth the interior and prbably have another two to get where I want. Laminate and carpet seems like a better idea all the time :lolhit:.

it looks awesome, your doing some great work !
if you find a way to shoot gel so that wet sanding is minimal to non existent, please tell me what type of gun, tip size and psi are you shooting at ? what product are you using so the gel dries ? 2 coats ? activated gel, then activated gel w/ whatever product for the air dry there is touch up on my boat that hasn't happened yet only because wet sanding is outside of my ability i can go from 800 to 2000 changing directions each grit w/ clean water every time, buff it and still see sanding marks when the sun goes across it. |
