Ok finally some more progress. I am almost ready for the glass guy. Just a few details and he can come over. I hope to be ready for him by Thursday of this week. This is the new look for the dash.

This is how I decided to tackle the center of the fairing. This gave more strength to the fairing and also is going to keep it easy to keep clean.

This was a pain. I had to take off the inside grab rail for when I re-gellcoat the inside. It will also make it easier to do the glass work on the inside and grind things down.

Finally got to get some updates on line. This is a picture of what we call a OOOOOOOPS!!! I built this all up and realized it it going to catch water in there. SO what I am going to do is to put a drain in there that I will make up. I looked at other options but they all required me to do things that were less apealing then the drain. If you look to the right side of the compass you will see that the water will pool up in that area.

This is a picture of the dash cut outs. The new dash switches and guages I designed myself and had buit by Team Marine. They did a great job and I was extreamly happy with what they did for me. The layout is this: Large hole top left is for the guages, just under that is for the acces. switches like the bilge pumps and blowers and hatch mechanism, top right is for the trim indicators, middle is for the trim buttons, and the lower of course is the new trottle location. The old layout had the throttles up were the indicators now are.

When I talked to my glass guy he said that if I did not want resin on it that I had to glass it up. So I went nuts and put thick plastic on EVERYTHING. I spent about 4 hours taping the thing up. I think that this will save me a lot of time after we are done with the glass lay up.
