Ended up doing it with 10 and know to replace 1 fuse at a time if they blow. Thanks to this great site a guy did up a drawing that even I could understand. I can't thank this guy and all of you enough, I have finished the trim pump wiring and moved on to wiring up the engine side of the plug. Here is the drawing I couldn't get it resized without using crop so a the pumps and the back of the switches are missing in the pic, but is was all there for me. Thank you OSO!

Make sure you pull one of the fuses out of one trim pump on each side as two in parrallel like that will be twice the rated amps. Other then that it looks good.

Does anyone know what the fuse size is for the trim pumps? I have seen 20 amps listed in this post but is that for the switch or the actual pump motor, I am looking for the pump motor fuse size?
Thanks

OK, After looking at the pump I realized that the pump has 12 awg wire feeding the motor, That size wire can only handle a maximum of 45 amps. Why would the fuse need to be twice the size of the rated capacity of the wire?

That is something you have to take up with Mercury Marine. The wires are short enough to with stand high amperage loads. Don't remember when the last time I saw wires burnt up on the pumps. BTW, the breakers on the starter motors are 129 amps. Go figure !!But Mercury designed it and hours of t & d . And it works !!
