Winterization-add flushing attachment to Perko strainer?
#11
I've put up pics and info here on the OSO before. I use the self winterization jug/kit; BUT I added a tire valve stem to it, and I pressurize the jug. It sends the AF right into the pump.
However, I have a fresh water flush system. I hate using muffs.

Dont forget, the best way is to run the engines so the stats open, then drain the blocks. Then add your antifreeze. Otherwise you are diluting the antifreeze with the water in the engine and actually raising your freeze point and burst point.
Also the safest bet is the -100. Spend the few extra $$ and save yourself and yuor engine!!

I open the cap on my strainer and stick the hose right inside to run the engine. To winterize it, i pull off the lowest hose on the engine and drain it to get as much water as possible out. Then I start the engine and keep dumping the antifreeze in the strainer til it blows good pink out the exhaust. I usually run about six gallons thru. I kind of do it over kill. I keep my boat in heated storage but try to play it safe in case heat went out.
