496 ho promblem
I have a lack of water exiting left side exhaust, already replaced impellar and backflushed system.Seems to have good water flow to bottom of manifold

I guess I might have the same question. I've had mine now for about 3 seasons and have noticed from day one when hooked up to the hose it always takes longer for the water to exit the left side and always less coming out than the right. Even setting in the water and firing it up same thing. Never had a problem never been stranded and 150 plus hours latter still does it. Never had the nerve to check it while on plane, I would imagine at the higher rpms it would even out. Hope to see other responses as well

Check your check ball units at the bottom of the manifold inlet, if they are stuck open, all your leftside water will not go out the exhaust manifold.

I have same issue but assumed it was due to my pro charger somehow. I always end up with more black soot on left and fiqured it was related to less water on that side to wash it out when running. I quess I rather to rich than lean. I tried asking around to see if anyone else ever had the concern but never had any answers. So is it something that should be addressed or leave well enough alone?

No, it will not trip a guardian alarm unless the exhaust manifolds themselves get over 160 degrees, if you keep running the engines with the water to the manifolds and elbows reduced eventually they will see an overtemp, then the water temp sensor for the exhaust manifold will sense the overtemp and sound the alarm and put the engine in a guardian mode. A scan tool or software can allow you to monitor the temps and guardina events. Best Regards, Ray @ Raylar |

yes, i just had the same problem. The quick connect came off, and engine was sucking air and manifold heated up, alarm went off. I found the check ball and put it back together with a hose clamp to hold the thing on. What a crappy design, a motor with all that power and coolant flow and this is what they come up with.
