It depends on what blower you are running and how fast you are spinning it. It will reduce the intake charge temp and create a denser fuel charge. Basically packing in more air and fuel molecules into the same space.

I did not have my 525SC innercooled and was pushing 8# of boost with a small blower. An innercooler probably would have given me another 30-40hp, but I did not have the hatch clearance.

Just something for you guys to think about.
My 99 model 454 MPI Mags had 400+ hours on them when I decided to supercharge. I went Whipple because I got a good deal on them.
Anyway 150 hours & 9 lbs of boost later I still haven't scattered one. So, that's about 550 or so hours on stock engines. The only thing changed was the heads, cam & bearings. Everything else internally was stock 400+ hour Mercruiser stuff.
My point is whatever you decide to do you need to do it well & treat it right. If you don't have the answers, take it to someone who is smarter than yourself & verify that they are smarter you.
As an aside, our houseboat was in the same dock as the owner of ATI, who makes Procharger. After one summer of being weekend neighbors, I can tell you that I would NEVER use any of their products in "out of the box" form.

I would not use the factory ignition, a mallory unilte would work great, limit the advance to about 10 deg, set total at 26 max, run a 850-950 blower carb, good flame arrester, elec fuel pump, like a H/P holley w/regulator, you will be set, put more pitch in the prop.....Rob

The stock ignition and fuel pump will be fine for the HP you're going to make. You may just have to change modules to either a V8-HP or V6-14. Install a fuel psi guage at the carb. You should easily be able to run 30-32* of timing if its tuned correctly.

Well the ATI guy must not have known how to set up his own product. I ran one for two years that way and did not really have any problems. I did a few extra steps like having my ECU tuned but other than that it was fine. I would recommend a good oil cooler.
