Default timing a 7.4 mpi motor

i need some help timing my 2000 gen vi 7.4 mpi motor. i need to know how to set the base timing. i understand the timing should be 8 degrees as per the valve cover. i recently had the motor rebuilt and have it running pretty good as per setting it by hear.

You need to jump pins A & B on the DTC connector to put the motor into base timing mode. Start engine and bring to 1500rpm, then set timing to 8 degrees.
