Be surprised if you didn't have an inner tie bar w/o hyd steering. That would put all steering forces one the 1 drive tiller arm/gimble ring.

Go by the red and yellow line to set your toe.
Are you talking about exterior steering?

You need to look at the steering arms inside the boat at the transom, the bar should be attached between them if it's there.

Talked to Bruce at sonic. He said yet set everything at 36. And you only need interior tie when you run over 80. Same with exterior steering, not really necessary until over 80

I wouldn't let Bruce touch my boat then if that is his opinion. According to your 1st post with dimensions, it will be impossible to set everything to 36" as Bruce suggest. I suggest don't talk to Bruce no more.

BTW, I'm talking about hyd steering... which uses rams on the outside of the boat, then you do not need the inner bar, which is on the inside of the engine compartment. Not to be confused with power steering.

Here was his email and it was 35in not 36 sorry guys

"Hey Josh….Bruce here from Sonic Boats…….We most always set the drives at 35”"

I assume he is talking about the prop shaft which would coincide with that Ted G said about running them in about an inch. I would absoluitely love to have external steering like you are talking about. I know Bruce has been around sonic a long time so I am hoping that this is the correct answer for me.

I am going to swing by and get a pic tonight but I beleive there is no kind of bar of any sort between my transoms from the inside. I need to look and verify this from inside the ol engine compartment.

35" sounds better. That will give you right at 1/4" toe in.
