I'm just completing 2 new DART block based 383 engines . . for my Magnum 27.

I chose Eagle forged cranks, Eagle H Beam rods, J&E Pistons, AFR heads, custom cams . .full roller set up.

Everyting needs balancing, very little from your original engine can be reused.

Any 383 at $2395 isn't going to last in a marine application.

Do your research, there's alot involved, from oil pans with adequete clearance to block work and proper rings for a marine engine!

What Mario said. I used the Scat cast crank, stock rods SLP forged pistons. Block was taken 40 over so we wound up with a 385. My builder spent days clearencing the block and oil pan etc. because of the large crank. You have to check everything including making sure nothing hits cam lobes. But once done it was worth it!.
