Remote oil filter with CMI's, what to do???

Just wondering what everyone does when they change to an aftermarket exhaust system as far as placement of the remote oil filter bracket goes.

Obviously with CMI's the bracket will no longer bolt on, so I am wondering where to put it. Or how to mount it safely in another location.

Cmi can weld mounting tabs on the headers or have a shop do it for you. the set I was selling had them. Randy

If a 496, the kit originally came with a new bracket and longer hose.

My CMI's have the same tabs as Randy's, but my 502mpi's use a different bracket and I don't use the tabs.

You can just make a bracket out of a piece of 1.5" angle aluminum or painted steel and mount the remote filters anywhere that is convenient. I did that on a different boat.

I bought the relocate kit but it still didn't work...it gets in the way of the heat exchanger. The mechanic used the stock 496 bracket just heated and bent it...it works but looks like crap and the end of the heat exchanger is no longer accessable. I am wondering if CMI sent me the wrong kit....maybe the kit for the "496 E-Tops" rather than Sport Tubes?? I think the Sport Tubes sweep much farther forward than the E-Tops. Either way something needs to be fixed as it looks like crap and I don't want to be moving this thing too far away.

This is my plan. You can mount them anywhere, Just have new hoses made.

I was hoping someone had an idea about, or could point me in the direction of a remote filter head that was not so damn big and bulky that also didn't look like a cheap p.o.s. or wasn't like $200......
