Question sandblasting a drive

The shop uses aluminum oxide
Is that ok for a bravo?
Should I seal the water intakes?

Unless the factory finish on your drive is totally hammered, I wouldn't recommend media blasting it at all. Why? Because the factory finish is a multiple step cleaning, surface preparation, priming and finish coating process. It's very expensive and very well controlled. It's also virtually impossible to duplicate outside the factory. Yes, you might be able to get a decent (cosmetic) looking finish after media blasting, but the corrosion resistance will be but a fraction of the factory finish. (This becomes even more important if you boat in salt water.) You might want to think about that before you proceed.

I agree just touch up any spots rather than stripping completely. Ive had guys strip them and have them powder coated and its not as good as factory. Unless of corse they are completely shot.
