JoMar Performance makes stud girdles for just about everyone. I think they even make them for AFR. I've been to their shop and they have Dart and AFR heads everywhere. Their price is better as well. I have a set of their stud girdles on my AFRs and you can tell they are made for them by the close fit. If you use the wrong girdles you will screw up your geometry big time as the AFR heads changed the valve angles.

Have someone run a Pipemax on you motor and find out what length intake runner the motor wants. Then select an intake. They all have different length runners. That's the best way for maximum power.

now that is good advice.
You ever try to do it ? Not easy. Much easier if you take molds. Pipemax has some intake lengths of heads. Edit in: I have Pipemax and love it. |

Kind of. You must measure the intake length of the heads and intake.

get the head that matches best for your 502 then when you build a 540. send them out and have them gone through and ported. win win. you get the best heads for both engines and they are fresh both times for less money than two sets.
