I have a couple of places close by us that does the mil spec hard anodizing.they told me everything need to be removed before they'd put the pieces in their tank.
when done mil spec,,surface is hard to scratch.afr's h.a. comes off w/ a lite touch of a sand paper roll.

Yes I understand. The good hard anodizing isn't black either it's like a dark brown color. It can be masked but is very time consuming. Adds an extra $500 to the cost.

The AFR hard anodizing is applied to the casting pre-machining,There is no masking or post application prep. They are ready to run as delivered. The up-charge on the heads is $175.00.

Pretty sure he opens them to .700.
I'll check the sheet when I see the machinist tomorrow.
Maybe I'm goofed up on the exhaust flow as that does seem high.
According to the brodix site they flow 340 and 240 "as cast".
A local old timer that's been at this for longer than I've been alive does my stuff. He used to do quite a bit of work for the local shops before CNC came around.

I'll report back as I certainly don't want to give bogus info.

*edit* 313 not 330 on the exhaust. Also, 2.30 intake valve instead of the 2.25 the heads come with.

Bills dad??

He must have sucked, all I did was remove exhaust hump on my 89 5.0 with B cam, went 12.9's ran great!!

I'd bet $$$ those 'semi-hemi heads' aren't anywhere close to $2100/pair. You may have been looking at some other head for that price.
