I bet this is why all my hinge screw are loose and stripped.
For what its worth, skip the marine grade plywood and go straight to polypropylene honeycomb core or the light Coosa. Its lighter than plywood and will never rot. Thanks for reminding me I have another thing to rebuild! LOL |
What kind of fasteners will you use for the nuts?
Do they make nuts that "pot" in the glass. I am already working on the material list. |

You can order coosa online but it is expensive especially when they put shipping cost on it. I have went to a couple places here near my home town to try and get it like fountain, they only wanted a arm and leg as they sell it by the square foot. But the best place I found was a little boat repair facility that said they could have it delivered to them through a vender that they buy there materials from, the vendors typical make a once a week delivery. For a 1/2" 4x8 piece is around 200.00. So if I were you I would try to find a small repair shop near you and ask if they could get it for you. It's more expensive but to me lighter and the piece of mind that you don't have to worry about rot is worth it to me.

When I give out a quote on a interior, or Baja engine hatch I always include the cost to replace the plywood with plastic and many times the customer says "but mine is fine". I always send photos to them after we tear it down to show them how bad they get. Baja was suppose to put sealer in the holes before they bolted the hinge in place, but that rarely happened.

Of course we can just produce new skins for you. The vinyl supplier deleted the old colors awhile ago, but I have found a white that is pretty close. Teal vinyl is tough to find now days. We can do your original design on the hatch, or something custom. I would save your change and get new skins for everything in the cockpit so that it all matches when your ready to do it.

That looks awesome... And that work out perfect!!
I wanted to add some color, but my dark Teal gauges, cup holders, carpet and cabin cording are all Teal! argggghhhhhh! I wanted to add some brighter (more mordern) colors, but nothing really goes with teal... Looks like I have some more colors to looking at some more colors possibilities!! :-) I am very happy with the new colors, but if I changed the interior, I could add something brighter with the teal (if I can figure out what!) Why cant you mask off the teal on the hull and paint it blue or silver or red. Then recover the interior to meet whatever color you want?

A lot of customers are using carbon silver and carbon charcoals as neutral colors that go with anything.
