my water pressures aren't high at all. gauges read around 20 during the test at wot coming from rear of water neck on the intake. I assume no more pressure than last year. However, I did dump the circ pump and thermostat for a crossover free flowing system.

Pressurized both engines today to25psi and both held steady. So is safe to say no water leaking into where it shouldn't. Water test will be Monday.

I had a small block one time I kept getting water in the oil. Pressurized it (don't remember how much but it was probably a lot knowing me). Held pressure for 5 days took it out ran it. Milkshake. Finally pulled the motor tore it down sent the heads out and had them magnafluxed. Crack in the chamber. Not saying that's your issue. BBC heads have a lot more material in them. Point is pressure testing isn't very reliable.

My boat had the stock cooling setup with no thermostat in the housing. The water PSI would never reach 10PSI. I put in a thermostat and now I get 25PSI at WOT. My gauge is plumbed to the intake manifold by the distributor.

Update:
Seems as if I have water situation solved. I just pulled the oil out of the pan and no more milk shake. I was a little concerned due to still seeing some cream under valve covers but that must be condensation and it's not reaching the pan. I'm using KN open breathers and do still get some oil on covers after a good one. I've tested my stock B1 22p, Hydro QIV 25p, and B1 24p. The best was B1 24p, 5050 rpm 64mph. I still need to test some Revolution before I buy. Last week I blew my port B1 outdrive. it grinds in neutral and sounds god awful in gear. I had to limp around on stb side for rest of weekend. I brought it home last night to start tear down. Here's a pic of the drain plug and the metallic oil draining behind it. I'll post up more once I have it open. Good choise on Mr Gadget, he built a drive for for my 525SC and it has running perfect for 2 seasons.
