Just wanted to congratulate you on your project. I know how much work that goes into these restorations as I'm sure many others well. Sometimes it seems like you'll never see the end of your project and sometimes days, weeks and even months can go by with seeing no visible progress and everybody around you thinks your insane. But that's when we look at some bad ass boat pics and race videos and gives you a little boost. Keep up the hard work.

Great job!

John

Btw I noticed your forward engine mounts in place. I will soon be doing my engine installs and rigging as well. I noticed on your starboard side mound was staggered. It's been so long since I gutted mine I forgot how those mounts are suppose to go and have repainted etc so all the old washer and nut/bolt marks are covered in fresh paint. It's amazing how some of things I've forgotten since I've been away from it for a while now being tied up with glass work, engine build, rigging, etc. so in a nutshell I'm confirming mounts are in correct location. I'm glad I looked however would have came back to me I would imagine during installs.
Tks John.

Am I seeing that right? 710 lift Isky cams? I guess those would be solid rollers? What heads you running?

hey john....hello
sorry i have not been in here for awhile.
but to my mounting pieces, first i set up starbod engine. used alingement tool , then once side view angle was correct or alingment was good, i drilled all the hole to locate alum angle to stringers. so stbd is done now, so then i go to set port same way, but i cant take 1/2 bolts out of stbd alum angle on center stringer, as u may lose exact location, at least that was my thought, once the motor was or mountibg plates set, i never unbolted them.
so...then i had to turn the other alum angle other way to get mounting holes thru that port piece.

this was how i got boat 4 yrs ago, and i thought guy that set it up was dumb not to have alum angle face same way, but after doing it myself , i see why these alum angle were set up that way.

the mounting plane is the in the fore to aft direction if u look at it.

yes ,,,what a project, one motor is running, just put stbf in this last weekend, will fire it this weekend.

good luck one yours.....
