Over this past winter, I noticed just about everyone ran out of stock of the Crane Gold rockers. Summit Racing, Teague, Jegs, etc. The rocker arm supply was put on hold, There was some talk that they were now going to be made overseas. It certainly looks like they changed the rockers for sure.
I've always had good luck with them in the past, but this winter with the supply gone, changes being made, I decided to go with Comp Cams Ultra XD rockers.
Is that pushrod cup on the new rocker pressed in all the way?

Did you get the Wide Bodies ? No, I didn't look up your part#.
Since Crane closed down and was bought and re-opened their have been 2 redesigns of the original Gold Race Rockers.
Your same question came up on the Bullet, and Chase Knight of Crane responded (date 11-28-2011)
Note, that quote was very end of 2011.
Furthermore, as we know currently, Crane was out of the rockers for a long time this past year or two. Why ? Don't know. Did Crane close down again then ? Production ? Materials ? Labor ? Design change ? This would be a great question for someone at Crane. People where scrambling for a suitable replacement, and that's when Scorpion came out with their Marine Rockers for the BBC which was tested by Mercruiser. Seems like Crane's are back on the shelf now.

Hello folks, The Crane Gold Race rockers for BBC are available in the standard configuration (part number 13750-16), or Wide-Body (13763TR-16). Since reorganizing in 2009, we have scrutinized and upgraded our product line wherever possible. The rockers now use a different aluminum alloy that's stronger at operating temperatures. However, it doesn't anodize as pretty as the previous alloy, perhaps affecting a "quality" perception. We also upgraded the fulcrums and nose rollers, the oil flow and pushrod seats, and the adjusting nuts. We make these ourselves, along with our roller lifters (hydraulic and mechanical), and grind our own camshafts. Our manufacturing facilities are in Daytona Beach, FL and Viola, WI (Wisconsin, not West Indies). We've had a Spintron since the mid-1990's. Prior to that, we've designed and built our own spin test fixtures since the early 1960's. Our products (including ignition) are made in the U.S.A., with the exception of the timing sets which come from Australia. If any of you are attending the PRI or IMIS shows, please drop by our booth. I'll be there to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Regards, Chase

These Gold rockers were on back order for 2 months , just got (2) sets last week. using a crane 741 cam and the poly locks that came with them they will not work for my application. At zero lash the poly locks hit the rocker. Changing push rod length does not help either. The taper back on the new rockers provides plenty of clearance and no grinding is required but unless the poly locks can be 1/8" longer then these wont work and that makes it very tight when a standard valve cover is used. I'm going to try the Crower SS roller rocker.

Use the stock valve cover gasket and then a thick cork one. Do the silicone between gaskets only. Mount ur oil dump as described in manual. Make sure it clears manifolds etc. I had to move mine after I drilled it ;-(.

I have the Teague tall covers on mine with the tall breathers. Cleared my M3 Procharger by 1/32". People have suggested to me not to route a PVC line back to the intake on a Supercharged application. Because now you are feeding your engine oily air which can increase the chances of detention.
