Scroll down on this post and you'll see a wiring diagram that no doubt many of us have used! You can build the relay set-up yourself for under $25 with a couple of Bosch 12v power relays, a terminal block, wires and connectors (and enclosure) if you like.

Mine at 20 yrs. old was intermittently crapping out. When tapping on the motor it would work fine so I had it rebuilt by a marine electric motor shop in Stuart, FL for $60. He also replaced a couple of worn gears. I then replaced the 2 relay's for good measure and carry spares onboard. Works EVERY time without issue.

Thanks. Im gonna trickle charge the batteries a few days then try running power straight from the battery to the motor and see if it makes a difference. If it does ill look into the relay option. If it doesnt im gonna look into getting it rebuilt or replaced.
