I'll youtube a little more on timing and how to use my gun. Just turned engine a little more and sure enough got the zero mark (it wasn't that painted mark on the pulley as per my previous picture - not sure why this was painted on the pulley other than perhaps that is the 32-34 mark)?. I aligned the zero mark with the big V in the marker - so I'm now at #1 TBC. Awesome. I'm now ready (tyomorrow) to install the intake, entire right side, and distributor and carb (tomorrows goals). Then oil change, verify compression, and try to start - hoping Friday to test firing up. Excited but nervous at same time.

Oh I forgot to ask earlier. Gonna put on intake later today. The gasket set for the intake came with the 2 main side pieces, the 2 rubber edge pieces, and 1 small round gasket with a hole in the middle. What is this round gasket for? Thx

When I read this tid bit I immediately thought of the "Denise the Milf" engine rebuild thread.

I hope this has a better outcome.

That was the alleged bimbo in Boston woke up with her boat sunk? At least we are sure this is on the level, and he-we are making real progress.

Its closer - started raining yesterday so only got a little further but close now. Got the intake on and distributor down. All I need now is carb, linkages, oil change, compression test, and fire up. Gonna do more today after work and then if all goes good fire up tomorrow.

That round gasket for the distributor - it obviously goes on the outside of the intake between the intake itself and distributor - right. Unlike the other gaskets, I can't see this one going under.

Thanks

Round gasket seals the distributor to the top (outside) of intake. Do not use sealer on this one.

So you now have a hard deadline for the boat to be tied to the dock. Be some unique wedding pictures. The bride driving-or faking it-in her wedding dress...

Thought I'd give an update. With the wedding just 1 week away, been busy getting all the 'house' projects done that I've had on the list for year. I fixed and painted my fence, built a 100' x 4' patio brick walkway in the front yard, built a 100'x12' bark mulch garden in the backyard (to park my motorhome and other toys on, painted the decks, etc, etc. Just haven't had the time to do the last of the engine work - plus weather has been on and off in the last week. Unfortunately (or fortunately) tomorrow is a right off being fathers day, and then I'm off for a business trip Monday to Thursday. So looking like I won't have time to get the boat done til after the wedding. So I'll provide the next update in about a week when I hope to be able to get to it.

Thanks again for all the help and support. Thanks
