Stop fighting kids.... Thanks to all the gave them input,

My answer was to lower the adjustment on one motor mount and the bell housing and other mount hod it just fine and I was able to do one monut at a time without removing the engine or having to set it on the oil pan.....

We bent ours doing it lol...I’ll take some pics if you want. Our engine builder ended up replacing it when he did our top ends.

I don't see why it would damage the oil pan if a little care is used. I brought home my new engine like this. 500+ mile drive.

i dont think its a good idea to do that even if you dont hurt the oil pan you may stress your pan gasket and create a leak down the road which means the motor will come out at that point I would lift the motor in a safe manor and get er done as us1 has suggested

Can you, yes. Could it do damage, yes. It's 1100 lbs resting on metal you could damage with your fist. Just my $.02.

I’d be a little more worried about placing the weight directly on the bottom of the bilge. It could be fine for all I know but that’s a half ton sitting on just a little bit of core and resin.
