Default Detent

Went to launch the other day and my bravo 1 wouldn’t go into reverse. Having not gotten the cover off yet because couldn’t loosen drain screws. I believe I have the tool for that. Went and bought the fattest widest screw driver. My question is not knowing what I’m going to find. How often is it the cover wobbled out or is it just the spring and ball? And when I have the cover off can I shift to reverse to check ease in movement? Anything else I need to watch for.? Thanks

But based on your other post, the engine was not running. Bravos should not be shifted when engine is not running

Detent wont have anything to do with not going into reverse. Check shifter linkage first. Remove shift cable coming from helm at the shifter bracketand shift drive forward and reverse while engine is running to eliminate cable problems. If it still wont shift move to back cap inspection.
