Removed Perko flush valve for a plain tee/priming issues.

I put on a flush kit a couple seasons ago but that plastic valve has always made me a bit nervous bouncing around the bilge, and someone mentioned that a simple stainless tee works just fine in its place.

I tried back flushing all of the lines and all was clear. I closed off the flush hose and went back to the muffs with no better luck. I pulled the hose coming from the pump at the thermostat housing and ran it and only a trickle - maybe a pint worth a minute was coming out. At this point all that is left is trying a new impeller. *shrug*

Well, I took it apart and the impeller looked virgin, but there was still a lot of dish soap in there. I wiped it out, slathered the impeller in marine grease, and voila - pumps like a champ. Thanks for everyone’s input!

Same here thanks to you. I find peace of mind knowing that when the handle is in position "A" water is only going out the drive and "B" water is only being supplied to the engine. Of course "C" is the path for raw water drive to engine. I retained perko's garden hose bulkhead under my bench seat and ran their clear supply hose to the 3 way valve so I have easier access for flushing.
