Default Flush valves

I had plastic flush valves and one failed and my boat could have sank. I will never have a plastic one again. I took them out. I duct tape the muffs on and works fine on my bravos

Standard Bravo sea pump setup with V belts turning clockwise looking at the front of the engine.

Do you have the hoses connected to the pump housing for a LH direction?

Exactly why I want to get rid of it.

Yep. I even went to the trouble of switching the hoses and all it did was suck out what water was in the system

I tried back flushing all of the lines and all was clear. I closed off the flush hose and went back to the muffs with no better luck. I pulled the hose coming from the pump at the thermostat housing and ran it and only a trickle - maybe a pint worth a minute was coming out. At this point all that is left is trying a new impeller. *shrug*

Well, I took it apart and the impeller looked virgin, but there was still a lot of dish soap in there. I wiped it out, slathered the impeller in marine grease, and voila - pumps like a champ. Thanks for everyone’s input!

Well, except a distribution hose falling off of one of the nipples hence zero water out of the SB side.

Same here thanks to you. I find peace of mind knowing that when the handle is in position "A" water is only going out the drive and "B" water is only being supplied to the engine. Of course "C" is the path for raw water drive to engine. I retained perko's garden hose bulkhead under my bench seat and ran their clear supply hose to the 3 way valve so I have easier access for flushing.
