As of last fall, prior to the last two week stay at the shop when new ECU was installed.
I still had the original problem, Boat would out of the blue start to act like it was running out of gas, backfiring and sputtering. After New eco was installed, boat was hose tested and seemed to run fine I'm told. No lake test yet. Due to cold weather setting in. |
Send the whole darn boat my way - I can take care of all this. Including the fuel injectors - fuel rails and the rebuild and pulling and reinstalling the engine and any ecm issues.

I'm just about ready to drop the insurance, take a piss on the ilmor, and sink it all to the bottom of Lake Michigan. And pay the IL DRN fine.
(Cheaper than a divorce, lol) (In the Shop's defense, the problem comes when I have the boat and goes when they have it.) |

Put a big block chevy in it and be done cheaper and everyone works on a big block chevy. Nothing wrong with a carb big block in a marine app either if one wants a cheaper build with less issues down the road.

Im die hard Ford Truck if it has wheels,
but a big block Chevy is looking better and better! Im not after huge power or super fast speeds. Im after it being reliable and trustworthy! Where do I shop for a 600-650 hp BB Chevy, Naturally aspired, pump gas? |

Don't think your going to find one to run on pump gas, or at lest 93 octane pump gas. I think the Ilmor are great motors but there are very few that can work on them as seen from River Daves Place. There are a few guys here that can build you a motor, but like all of them, with that kind of power from a BBC your into higher octane. Also need to refresh top end every 250 hours

Why not send the motor to Ilmor?
