So it turns out I had the bobbin threaded wrong. Now that I fixed that seems to work.

I have them do the upholstery. I do the wood 1st. i have a sewing machine and did some seats once a long time ago and they came out ok but definitely not something i would do on a nice boat. Its more frustrating than its worth saving the money. Save up and let the pro do it. Its something that will be a focal point. Best of luck attempted another practice piece, need to work on my turns, relief cuts help a lot. also decided I'm going to skip the french stitch and any top stitch. it is hard to make the turns, hard to keep straight and a house machine is not a compound feed so if i'm not pulling it evenly i get uneven stitching that does not look good up close. Going to keep is simple. whole new respect for upholstery people. |
